How to Freeze or Unfreeze a Card
Temporarily disable a child's card when needed
Need to temporarily stop spending on a child's card? You can freeze it instantly and unfreeze it when ready.
When to Freeze a Card
Common reasons to freeze:
- Child needs a spending break
- Suspicious activity detected
- Card details may have been compromised
- As a consequence for behavior
- Temporary pause during vacation
How to Freeze a Card
Go to Family Settings
Navigate to Settings → Family Members.
Select the child
Tap on the family member whose card you want to freeze.
Find card controls
Scroll to the Debit Card section.
Toggle freeze
Tap Freeze Card to immediately disable it.

What Happens When Frozen

Some pending transactions may still complete even after freezing. These were authorized before the freeze took effect.
How to Unfreeze
Go to card settings
Navigate to the same card controls section.
Tap Unfreeze
Toggle off the freeze to re-enable the card.
Card is active
Purchases can be made immediately.
Freezing and unfreezing is instant. There's no waiting period, so you can quickly enable the card when your child needs it.
Freeze vs Cancel

If you need to permanently disable a card (lost/stolen concerns), contact support to cancel and issue a replacement.
Notifications
When you freeze or unfreeze a card:
- The child receives a notification
- Action is logged in your activity history
- No charge or fee applies
