How to Create a Task
Create tasks for your family members to complete and earn points
Tasks are the core of ChoreSplit. Create tasks for family members to complete and earn points!
Steps
Tap the + button
Find the + New button in the top corner of the app.
Enter task name
Type a clear, specific name like "Make your bed" or "Empty dishwasher".
Set point value
Choose how many points this task is worth (e.g., 10-50 points).
Pick a category
Select a category like Bedroom, Kitchen, or Outdoor to organize tasks.
Choose frequency
Set how often the task repeats: daily, weekly, or one-time.
Assign to members
Select which family members should do this task.
Tap "Save"
Your task is now created and ready!
What tasks look like

Tips
Start with easy, quick tasks (5-10 minutes) to build momentum. Kids feel accomplished and want to do more!
- Be specific: "Clean your room" is better than "Chores"
- Fair points: Harder tasks should be worth more points
- Start small: Begin with 3-5 tasks, add more as your family gets used to the system
