Understanding Parent vs Child Roles

Learn the difference between Parent and Child roles in ChoreSplit

ChoreSplit has two roles: Parent and Child. Each role has different permissions and features.

Parent Role

Parents are administrators of the family. They can:

  • Create and manage tasks — Add, edit, delete tasks
  • Manage family members — Add, edit, remove members
  • Create rewards — Set up rewards for points redemption
  • View all statistics — See everyone's progress
  • Verify completions — Approve photo verifications
  • Manage settings — Configure family preferences
  • Handle billing — Manage subscription (account owner)

Child Role

Children are task completers. They can:

  • View assigned tasks — See tasks assigned to them
  • Complete tasks — Mark tasks done, earn points
  • Redeem rewards — Use points for rewards
  • View leaderboard — See family rankings
